Abstract: The article studies the image of the fallen woman as a stable image in Dostoevsky's work. The image is indicated as one of the motifs of the Petersburg text, which is evident from the inter-textual connections between Dostoevsky’s “Notes from the Dungeon” and Gogol’s “Nevsky Prospekt”. The analysis takes into account the peculiar code of the St. Petersburg story, which includes the real, the symbolic and the fantastic, and functions in the scheme of the fall - repentance - redemption - salvation. As an element of the St. Petersburg text, the loci associated with vice and fall stand out, and it is noted that even in the darkest paintings, the connection with the Christian beginning and the search for the way to God and Salvation sneaks in. Based on the analysis of the image of Lisa in “Notes from the Dungeon” and Sonya Marmeladova in “Crime and Punishment”, it is suggested that the image of the prostitute is romanticized and oriented to the Christian myth of Mariya-Magdalena and the religious idea related to the phenomena of forgiveness and saving sacrifice. It is suggested that such a development of the image leads to a change in the biblical archetype and to the creation of the neo-myth for the sinner / prostitute Savior, which is the basis of a stable plot in Dostoevsky’s work.
