Шуменски университет „Епископ Константин Преславски“ Катедра История и археология 2026 ============================= Abstract: During the Hellenistic period, a well-defined road network emerged within Ancient Thrace. This system aligned with the valleys of major rivers, including the Danube. A key component of this network was the Coastal Road, which traversed the Bulgarian Black Sea littoral and interconnected the Greek colonies established in the region. Knowledge regarding this route is derived from the accounts of ancient authors (such as Herodotus and Jordanes), epigraphic evidence, numismatic data, and various other archaeological monuments.
